Understanding trading risk

Read the product terms and consider potential loss before any decision.

Price changes and leverage

Leveraged products increase exposure relative to the money committed to a position. A small price change can therefore have a large effect on the account. Understand how margin, close-out rules and any applicable loss protections work in the actual agreement.

Execution and counterparty questions

Quoted prices, available liquidity and execution conditions can change. Ask what happens during rapid markets or service interruptions. Identify who owes you money under the contract and how a dispute or insolvency would be handled.

Claims are not evidence

Guaranteed profits, impressive screenshots and statements about an advanced algorithm do not demonstrate that an investment is suitable or legitimate. Separate marketing material from independently verifiable records. Do not treat money shown in an online account as proof that a withdrawal is available.

Before proceeding

  • Read the full product specification and fee schedule.
  • Consider whether you can afford the potential loss.
  • Verify the provider and applicable protections.
  • Seek qualified, independent advice if the terms are unclear.
